Abstract

The article focuses on addressing the current scientific and applied challenge of creating effective methods for predicting web server loads. It highlights how the absence of a formalized and detailed description of the forecasting tool development process hampers the utilization of modern theoretical solutions, thus hindering their effectiveness. Through our research, we've devised a conceptual model for forecasting web server loads. This model considers the technical specifications of the web server, typical web traffic parameters, and justifies the criteria for evaluating performance. This enables a more precise direction for further research in designing relevant forecasting tools, incorporating models and methods from wavelet transform theories. Our investigation identifies the need for developing a wavelet-based model to predict web server loads in a general-purpose computer system, signaling avenues for future exploration
