Local PBX of an enterprise based on a computer network

Abstract

The paper analyzes modern telecommunication technologies for opportunities and potential vulnerabilities that may arise as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. After carefully considering the advantages of IP technologies, the article focuses on their use to build a reliable and secure enterprise telephone system. At the same time, the author emphasizes the economic profitability of combining wireline and cellular subscribers receiving services from independent telecommunications operators in one system. This reduces the dependence of channel reliability on the geolocation of base stations and allows to expand the geography of consistently available subscribers. According to the authors, the most effective way is to integrate traditional communication technologies with IP technologies through the use of a dedicated digital mini-PBX, which should be controlled by a personal computer. Continuous communication of employees is only possible through the creation of an autonomous information and communication structure based on the existing local computer network of the enterprise. This gives grounds to propose a functional scheme of secure telephone communication between enterprise subscribers and the external environment based on the use of its local area network (LAN). Such a system allows you to integrate all the analog and digital hardware available within the enterprise and ensures stable communication even in the event of a power outage for a sufficiently long time. It is also important to be able to maintain stable communication without the need for one-time significant investments in infrastructure modernization.
