The impact of digital evolution on information technologies
Abstract
The article examines the impact of digital evolution on information technologies. It is emphasized that the processes of globalization, which have become a reality in the modern world and, as a result, the formation of a post-industrial economy, were determined by the transition from the third to the fourth information revolution, which is currently underway, called the revolution of information technologies, from automated processing of information to its computer presentation as a result of the application of microprocessor technology, a complex of technical and software tools used to build various microprocessor devices and systems, which became the basis for the creation of personal computers and the information and communication network and the worldwide system of unified computer networks of the Internet to ensure information exchange on a global scale. It is emphasized that the digital revolution causes the transformation of human culture due to the application of new technological capabilities that allow creating virtual worlds and improving augmented reality technologies to supplement the surrounding world with digital data in real time using special devices. It is noted that the information and digital revolution affects structural changes in the economy. Today, all types of human activity are affected by the digital revolution, the development of a complex of information and communication technologies is taking place before our eyes, the rapid spread of which contributes to active scientific and technical progress in microelectronics. According to Moore's law, the cost of a unit of computing power and operation is decreasing in microelectronics. It is emphasized that society is currently in a state of transition to a new technological order, which is entering its growth phase. ICT, additive technologies, bioengineering and nanotechnologies are the core of the modern technological system. The key factors in the development of a new technological system are information technologies, which are based on knowledge about the elementary structures of matter, improvement of processing algorithms and data transmission in fundamental research.
