The possible issues when using groups of unmanned aircraft. Conceptual basis of their solution
Abstract
The article describes the possibilities of using groups of unmanned aerial vehicles for military purposes. Also, the issues associated with the management of such groups are considered. The trends in the use of groups of unmanned aerial vehicles were analyzed, and the main directions were determined. The state of modern developments in the field of application of UAV groups for task performance is analyzed. The issues that related to the software for controlling a group of aircraft are described. Considered inaccuracies when using the classic approach to managing the leader-followed group. Conceptual ways of solving the issues of using groups of UAVs for the successful performance of the task by the group are considered. The question of using a client-server architecture in the communication of a group of UAVs has been investigated. Ways to improve such an architecture are proposed specifically for use in military purposes, where communication between group members may be disrupted by different factors. Duplication of group roles, i.e. software modules, is proposed to maintain group stability in the event of an unexpected situation. Examples of using algorithms for coordinating the change of the group leader for the continuation of the group's work in case of the loss of the previous leader are proposed. The issues of using a group in case of impossibility of communication within the group and promising ways of solving such issues are described
